Another day to be proud of for Kilvey Volunteers. Penygraig Quarry is shaping up to be a great community venue for picnics, barbecues and music. Today, after some awesome teamwork we covered the burnt-ouit, blackened areas with council compost, made a fire-pit for safe cooking, and continued cutting back excess vegetation.
A bit more could be done – we’d love to bring in logs for seating and do some more cosmetic stuff but basically –
Bring on the Summer Barbie !! Saturday 30th August from 4pm. More details to follow ……..
Well it was a fantastic midsummer eve last Sunday and a good turnout of fairies, goblins and their families to our event. Some were new to our lovely hill – or at least to this side of it, wooded paths, wild strawberries, totem pole, pond and picnic places. It was so good to see the children playing free in the dappled midsummer sunlight. Photos will be here soon hopefully but should make it quicker onto our Facebook site ! Many thanks to Stephan and Dawn for some brilliant storytelling , bringing the magic in for us all.
